GENERAL INFORMATION
“Armeconombank” is the legal successor of the Republic’s division of “Zhilsotsbank” USSR, founded in 1987. In 1991, it was the first state bank of Armenia to be reorganized into an Open Stock Company.
In 2007, international Moody’s rating agency assigned the bank Ba3 rating on long-term deposits in AMD and foreign currency, as well as D- (stable outlook) rating on financial stability.
In 2008 AmRating/GlobalRating rating agency conferred Armeconombank a “BB+” credit rating with a forecast of “possible rise”.
As of 30.09.09 the bank has 1419 shareholders (17 non-resident shareholders (36.9%)). The major shareholders are Sukiasyan brothers (53.5%), and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (25%).
As of 31.03.2010 the total capital of Armeconombank OJSC amounted to AMD 8 181 012 thousand drams, assets to 46 664 565 thousand drams, and liabilities to 38 483 553 thousand drams.
